The LittleArm 3-D Printed Robot Arm grew out of some tinkering that we had done. After showing some of the prototypes to teachers we decided to make it a true Slant Project.
In STEM classrooms there is a great need for low cost robotics platforms. Ideally every student should have a kit. But systems, such as LEGO, are too expensive and quickly loose parts and pieces. LittleArm is a highly affordable and capable 3D printed kit that either be purchased or built from scratch.
LittleArm, is controlled through an Arduino Uno. It uses 4 identical microservos for articulation and all other mechanical components are 3-D printed. The arm is entirely open-source and we have built a separate project website to post videos, CAD, code, and other resources.
Over the next few months we will be developing new programs and accessories, as well as content and videos so anyone can use the LittleArm.
